We are here to help you out and give you tips from what we have experienced as we have nearly completed our first year as a pet sitting business.
Here are 3 things you should stop doing as a pet sitter👇
• Don’t accept every job just because! We’ve all been there but you need to learn to filter out the clients who you wouldn’t work with, whether it’s simply due to logistics, time frames, requirements or expectations that don’t align. There are so many pet sitters that you don’t have to feel guilty if you can’t / don’t want to work with a client.
• Don’t compare yourself! This leads me nicely to my next tip - pet sitting is a saturated (yet unsaturated) industry, there will always be pets and there will always be pet sitters. Just don’t spend energy comparing your progress and skills with other pet sitters, admire what they are doing and move that focus on how to evolve your own business.
• Don’t spend money on accessories for the pets, such as, car harnesses , leads etc. when you first start. Put this money into YOU - how can you build and apply growth for you as a person? Look into courses, insurance, website, leaflets, etc. It will give you a better foundation to work from.
