Dog Walks and Coffee Shops in Norwich

Updated: Jul 20

Norwich is a lovely city to walk around with all of its history, cobbled streets, small businesses and wonderful food venues. Coffee is not of short supply either so perfect for a start point or end point for your dog walks (some may even have dog treats!)

It's time to read our short list of dog walks and coffee shops in Norwich:
  • Waterloo Park is just on the outskirts of Norwich in the NR3 area. Roughly a 15 minute walk from the city centre or free parking onsite, this park is a wonderful walk with it’s curated gardens, tennis courts and dogs playing, sniffing and socialising everywhere! The Feed also run the cafe on site so you are also supporting charity by stopping off for a coffee and bite to eat.

  • Merchant’s House is our next suggestion. Just at the top of Bridge Street, this cafe is in a perfect location for a dog walk and window shopping along the littered charity shops all down Magdalen Street or the walk up Tombland and have a wander around the Norwich Cathedral.

  • Stranger’s Coffee is another favourite coffee shop of ours. With several coffee shops dotted around the city, you can finish most dog walks at Stranger’s Coffee to take away. It’s also been reported then Derren Brown has a curated coffee blend from them following a recent tour to the city!

  • Nestled up Upper St.Giles is CherryLeaf Coffee House with a rating of 4.5 and walking distance from Chapelfield Gardens, this is a lovely pairing and overall, lovely day out! We highly recommend a slice of cake or try one of their toasted ciabattas.

  • Our next suggestion, Mitre Coffee. Located in NR2, this coffee shop is a great end destination for a dog walk. We would recommend a dog walk around the golden triangle to see why it’s such a desirable place to leave! Even better, there are charity shops all nearby.

  • Lastly, you could grab a coffee from The Coffee Club and have a lovely long dog walk all along the river. This walk’s length can be adjustable at several sections: turn off at Tombland, by Adam & Eve’s Pub, Bishopsgate, Prince of Wales Road, Round Riverside and circle back up again.
