Pets are always a lovely addition to the family, they really help make a house feel like home but when it comes to holiday planning, it can become a bit complicated as you may have to think about pet care in with the planning.
This is where house sits become your best friend. A House Sit or also known as an Overnight Stay, is where a (typically) paid, professional pet sitter steps into your life for the duration of the holiday. This means a pet sitter will come into your home and replicate your routine as close as possible whilst keeping your pets happy and comfortable when you're away.
But, House Sits and Holidays: could this be your new best friend? Here are some of the benefits of House Sits and the reasons why they will make your holiday better.
Benefits of a House Sit (or Overnight Stay):
Yes, you could ask a friend to do it but as it's not a paid agreement and is seen more as a favour which means there is a possibility of expectations slipping. With a contract being in place, that person is whole heartedly agreeing that your pets are their best interest for that whole duration. This offers piece of mind and a strong benefit of the service.
There are other options to a House sits, such as Kennels, Catteries and Home Boarding. Home boarding is another popular option which is a service where your pet will go to someone else home for the duration of your holiday and it can become extremely stressful as your pet may feel as though you have left them. House sits are only offered at your pet's happy place - your home. Reasons why House Sits will make your holiday:
There is a reason why pet sitters become pet sitters - they simply ADORE pets! This means you will receive updates: messages, photos and even videos of your pets being cute and how they are doing. This means each day you are confident in knowing that your pets are well cared for and allows you to relax more into the holiday.
House Sits are typically a 24 hour period of pet care (give or take a visit to the shops, etc.) and that 24 hour period is filled with attention, walks and fun games to play.
Not only is pet sitter able to take care of your pets but also your plants and your home, e.g. taking the bins out, accepting deliveries and bring the post in. Another reason why House Sits will make your holiday as you will know that while you are away, your home security isn't impacted!
All pet sitters have different agreements in place, make sure to check that your expectations both align to ensure the best care for your pets when you are enjoying a much deserved break.
